Leo Brown Group of Carmel, Ind., intends to develop an abandoned gravel quarry southeast of Mooresville, Ind., into a 500-acre campground, according to the Daily Journal of Franklin.
The quarry straddles the Morgan-Johnson county line about 30 miles south of Indianapolis.
Brown has received preliminary approval from Morgan County officials and is to meet with Johnson County planners. The group thinks Indianapolis-area residents would prefer a short drive to camp and fish over the more distant state parks.
The site is near Bluff Creek Golf Course
