Kampgrounds of America Inc. (KOA) has developed a new Scout program to provide safe and affordable camping to Boy Scout, Girl Scout and Girl Guide groups throughout the U.S. and Canada.
This program allows qualifying groups of at least five Scouts and one troop leader to receive a $5 per Scout/Troop leader rate on tent and RV sites, along with a 10% discount on KOA Kabin, Kottage and Lodge rentals at participating campgrounds. The free use of group pavilions and other KOA facilities is included.
“We are so proud to offer a program that provides Scouts with more opportunities to experience the joys of the outdoors,” says Jim Rogers, KOA’s CEO. Rogers, one of 10 Eagle Scouts in his family, knows that Scouting is all about personal growth. “There are many things a Scout can experience on campgrounds that will enhance that growth,” he said.
Several badge-specific activities such as swimming, fire safety and wilderness survival can be fulfilled on KOA properties.
