The British Columbia Lodging & Campground Association (BCLCA) notes increased use of its travel website,, over the past year.
Currently, the website is averaging 520 users per day, with a total annual visitation of 190,003 from June 1, 2006 through May 31, 2007. This is an 85% increase in users per day, according to the July issue of “Dogwood Express,” the BCLCA’s newsletter.
The lodging site, with 163,715 visitations, has increased 24% and the camping site, with 318,825 visitations, has increased 43% for the same 12-month period.
It has been two years since the relaunch of the consumer website in July 2005 and the association said it has been delighted with the response from consumers and increase in hits for members, the newsletter stated. “The stats are proving very useful for members as it lets them know the impact that the BCLCA websites are having on their business,” BCLCA stated.
The association will be working on the next major update in 2008 for a relaunch prior to 2010.
