LSI Resorts Note Expansions
Two Leisure Systems Inc. Jellystone Park Camp-Resorts added multi-million dollar improvements to their parks this summer.
In late June the Hagerstown, Md., Jellystone Park held a ribbon-cutting for the new Yogi Bear’s Water Zone, a 3,200-square-foot interactive pool with a beach entry and bubblers, an 8-foot Raindrop, fountain jets that spray across the pool, plus basketball and volleyball nets. The pool has built-in seating with hydrotherapy jets. The facility also includes two 400-foot waterslides.
The Water Zone is part of an expansion project undertaken by owners Ron and Vicki Vitkun, which also includes five luxury cabins and 58 RV sites. The arcade room also was renovated with black lights and new redemption games.
This summer, the Yogi Bear Camp-Resort in Eureka, Mo., introduced its new 11,000-suare-foot multi-use building and activity pavilion as the latest improvement in an ongoing renovation by owners Scott and Kathy Jones. The facility features two kitchenettes, outdoor barbecue grills and catering for campers who want to leave the work to professionals. The project includes a new video arcade and a 4,000-square-foot store and gift emporium, renovation of the swimming pool and a new recreation field. The park was named LSI’s Camp-Resort of the Year in 2005.
