Tourism Marketing Exec to Address CTPA
With an influx of $50 million into California’s marketing agency, ambitious plans are under way to once again make California the world’s leader in destination tourism, according to the California RV Parks & Campgrounds (CTPA) News newsletter.
Lynn Carpenter-Shumann, director of marketing for the California Travel & Tourism Commission, will share these advertising campaigns as the keynote speaker at the CTPA’s 32nd Annual Convention & Trade Show Sept. 25-26 in San Diego.
Carpenter-Shumann will lead off at the opening breakfast on Sept. 25. All events are at the Crown Plaza Hotel, formerly the Red Lion Hanalei.
The commission is reaching out to travel segments in major markets throughout the U.S. and the world. She will outline how campgrounds can tie into these programs through the California Rural Tourism Marketing Program. Funds are available to facilitate regional tourism efforts and act as a catalyst to develop public/private collaborations that will increase campground visits and campers’ length of stay.
Carpenter-Shumann directly supervises the commission’s promotional efforts related to advertising, co-op, travel trade/international, web/e-commerce and publications activities.
