The Kansas Association of RV Parks & Campgrounds (KARVC) reported on marketing successes for this season in the September issue of its newsletter.
Among the highlights:

  • From June 1 – Sept. 4, 2007, KARVC had 8,554 visitors to its website,, which was “extremely higher than the same time period in 2006,” the association reported.
  • 61% are typing in to find the website or are finding it via search engines (the most common being Google).
  • Looking at direct hits from links KARVC established on other sites, consistently brings in the most visitors.
  • Looking at e-mail requests for individual copies of KARVC’S Kansas RV & Camping Guide between Jan. 1 and Sept. 4, the association sent out 399 copies (compared to 198 in 2006). This doesn’t include those who called or sent letters requesting copies, nor does it include the bulk orders.
  • In July and August GoCampingAmerica had 1,081 visitors on the Kansas pages.
  • 25% of the KARVC membership is taking advantage of the marketing program which lets parks include their brochure with individual requests for the guide.
  • In 2007 the guide was distributed at 15 consumer shows nationwide. State associations in Colorado, Missouri, Iowa and Texas also take the Kansas guide for shows in their states.
  • The guide also is found in RV dealerships in Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Missouri, Colorado, Iowa, Florida, Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania and in several RV parks nationwide.
