Ohio Deploys $296,000 into Campground

State funds totaling $296,000 were released by the Ohio Controlling Board to support renovations at the Camp Perry Training Site campgrounds in Ottawa County east of Toledo in northwest Ohio, State Sen. Randy Gardner, R-Bowling Green, announced on Monday (Oct. 29). The funding will allow a 1,540-square-foot shower and bathroom facility to be built at the camp’s new 40-unit recreational vehicle campground, which was built in 2006, according to the Toledo Blade. Leisure Systems Inc., franchisor of the Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park camp-resorts, has recognized the need to expand its camping options and continues to increase its full-service rental cabins across a number of its camp-resorts.
