Affinity Sponsors 2008 Conference & Expo
The 2008 Resort & RV Campground Conference & Expo, Jan. 21 – 23, sponsored by Affinity, the nation’s largest provider of outdoor clubs, media and events servicing America’s recreation vehicle and outdoor enthusiasts, will feature four leading business and recreation industry experts who will address multifaceted issues that impact the $6 billion RV resort and campground industry. The second annual conference will take place at the InterContinental Hotel in downtown New Orleans, La.
Andy Cohen, a driving force behind some of the world’s leading brands, including American Express, AOL, Charles Schwab, Club Med, P & G and Clorox, will serve as conference keynote speaker on Jan. 22. He is widely recognized as an “ideas” guru, providing strategic advice to senior executives and their teams. His program, titled “Thinking Differently and Other Remarkable Lessons to Grow Your Business, Build Great Teams, and Become a More Effective Leader,” is designed to help recreation businesses to craft innovative business solutions and generate more than a billion dollars in measurable sales.
Additional presentations will be given that day by Grant Miller, president of Affinity Clubs, Gary LaBella, vice president of public relations and advertising for the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA), and Derrick Crandall, president of the American Recreation Coalition (ARC).
Miller, who is responsible for all Affinity membership clubs, including the Good Sam Club, Coast to Coast Resorts, Camp Club USA and Golf Card International, will speak on the topic, “Working Harder for You.”
“The conference will provide invaluable opportunities for networking with key industry players and for campground operators to have real dialogue with Affinity’s business partners,” Miller said. “We want to hear their concerns and create an atmosphere where ideas are exchanged freely to create new business opportunities.”
LaBella will talk about the award-winning “Go RVing” national advertising campaign, now in its 12th year, and the extent to which private parks can become more involved. Crandall will discuss ARC’s “Get Outdoors Campaign.”
Senior executives from Affinity-affiliated publishing, retail, and camping club operations are scheduled to attend, including Woodall’s North American Campground Directory, the Trailer Life RV Parks Campgrounds and Services Directory and Camping World, as well as Good Sam Club, Camp Club USA, Coast to Coast Resorts and Golf Club International.
During the conference, Affinity will highlight its strategic partnership with Barbados-based DigitalRez International, which is now offering online reservations and web-based front desk management services to private parks listed in the Woodall’s and Trailer Life campground directories.
Breakout sessions are also scheduled for Jan. 23, closing day. For more information on the 2008 Resort & RV Campground Conference & Expo and a link to online registration, visit the conference website at www.rvrcconference.com.
