Mill Creek Ranch Resort in Canton, Texas, has begun construction of its Grand Lodge, which will become the centerpiece of this upscale RV resort in East Texas.
The lodge, when complete, will be an elegant Texas ranch house, featuring sprawling timbers, expansive ceilings, 26-foot tall glass windows and Austin Stone inside and out, according to a news release.
Taylor Barnes Distinctive Homes has been selected to construct this project. According to General Manager Bud Surles, “Rusty Barnes and his company have an eye for the rustic elegance that Mill Creek Ranch reflects in all of its construction and activities.”
The Grand Lodge will serve the guests of the resort by providing space for meetings, conferences, seminars and special events such as weddings, family reunions and other celebrations of up to 150 guests.
The resort opened its RV sites earlier this year. Overnight accommodations for events hosted at the Grand Lodge are provided in park model cottages manufactured locally by Athens Park Homes. Cottages can be owned or rented. The resort shuttle service to Canton’s World Famous First Monday flea market. The park models also can provide income opportunities for the owners as they rent their cottages to Mill Creek guests.
Construction of the lodge will be complete in June 2008.
