ReserveAmerica Sets Record Booking Feb. 1

ReserveAmerica broke its previous reservation record for its busiest day of the year by processing over 19,000 reservations on Feb. 1, booking roughly 76,000 camping nights for the upcoming camping season. This was a 16% increase over last year's single-day reservation record for the Ballston Spa, N.Y.-based campground reservation service. A leading privately owned chain of RV parks and campgrounds is branching out into the amusement park sector as part of its drive to become a major regional destination for families. Online Bookings Continue to Grow

Friend Communications announced that online bookings increased again in 2007 for campgrounds which provide online convenience to their guests. California parks led the nation in revenue bookings with three parks generating more than $600,000 total online bookings, according to a recent issue of CalARVC News. Park owner-operators say they would much rather take the booking online rather than incur the cost of taking the call by phone, the newsletter stated. Lorne Armer, an eight-year veteran of the Kampgrounds of America Inc. (KOA) home office staff in Billings, Mont., was recently promoted to vice president of marketing for the 46-year-old international camping company, KOA announced in a news release.
