The $50-million Calypso Park under construction in Limoges, Ontario, will feature more than 35 waterslides, a 40,000-square-foot wave pool, hundreds of water games, an “adventure river” and a campground spread over 460 acres, according to The Ottawa Citizen.
It will be developer Guy Drouin’s second waterpark; his other park is located outside Quebec City.
The new suburban Ottawa facility is expected to open in June 2009. Drouin recently agreed to rename it Calypso Park in response to concerns the original name, SunnyLand, was anglocentric.
