8,000+ Manitoba Sites Booked on First Day
By all reports the first day of being able to reserve a campground this summer at a Provincial Park in Manitoba by telephone was relatively trouble-free.
More than 8,000 campsites were booked as of noon Monday (April 7), reported CJOB Channel 68, Winnipeg. That is more than the first-day total from last year.
Conservation Minister Stan Struthers told CJOB that only a few minor problems came to light. He said staff were all over those glitches very quickly so the most people had to wait was 40 minutes, a vast improvement over previous years.
Struthers said by 10:30 Monday morning, there was no wait time at all.
