For the sixth year in a row, Brush, Colo., served as the first stop for members of the Family Campers and RVers.
The annual Spring Fling Rally, held May 16-18, brought approximately 215 RVs to the community to celebrate the beginning of the camping season, according to the Brush News Tribune.
The statewide rally will be held at the Elbert County Fairgrounds in Kiowa, Colo., over Labor Day weekend.
“We had to find a fairgrounds that could accommodate us and this is one of them and we need a nice building,” said State Far West Regional Director Loana Schrader in explaing how the northeast Colorado community was chosen. “There is no fairgrounds in Colorado that has any more room than in Brush.”
With 950 members in the organization, membership currently stretches from Fort Collins down to Pueblo/Canon City. Colorado became a member of the national organization around 1969, and has more than 50 chapters and the most members of any state in the non-profit international organization.
