The Scott County Conservation Board announced the reopening of Buffalo Shores Campground effective today (May 22).
The 65-site campground located along the Mississippi River downstream from Davenport, Iowa, was closed since April 27 due to flooding, according to Quad-Cities online, Rock Island, Ill.
While the majority of the campground will be usable for the holiday weekend, some wet sites and the river view row of sites will remain closed. No tents will be allowed to be set up on the grass anywhere in the campground until further notice.
Even though the river is open for use, the docks at the boat ramps will not be installed because of the continued high water.
