Oklahoma ARVC Ponders Weather/ Fuel
Foul weather and rising fuel prices stifled the RV park and campground business in Oklahoma in the first quarter of 2008.
David Miller, president of the Oklahoma Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds, told Woodall’s Campground Management that only since the weather “broke” in recent weeks has business begun to pick up at his park and elsewhere in the Sooner state.
The 11-member association held its annual spring meeting April 16 at Miller’s Rockwell RV Park near Oklahoma City. Members discussed their listings in the guide for RV parks, which is published by the state of Oklahoma. The state printed 225,000 copies of the brochure for 2008, he said.
To help spur use of Oklahoma ARVC parks, the association will continue to make available on its website, www.gocampingok.com, 10% discount coupons good at any member park.
The association will elect its officers at its fall meeting.
