Camping World/Freedom Roads to Add Rentals
Camping World/FreedomRoads, the nation’s largest RV and outdoor retailer, is adding recreational vehicle rentals to its existing RV and outdoor product offerings. CW/FR’s RV Rental Centers will initially launch in 14 major markets: Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Fort Lauderdale, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York, Orlando/Kissimmee, Phoenix, San Diego, San Francisco and Seattle.
An additional 20 markets are targeted within the next 24 months, Buffalo, Houston, Indianapolis and Sacramento among them.
“The expansion into RV rentals is the first in a series of planned ventures this year by Camping World/FreedomRoads representing the company’s desire to further expand their capabilities and gain market share through a growing diversified product offering,” stated a release from the Lincolnshire, Ill.-based company.
The ultimate goal, according to the release, is to have rental units available in Camping World locations across the country supported by the company’s 100-store national service network.
“Offering RV rentals is a natural fit with our business,” reported Marcus Lemonis, Camping World/ FreedomRoads chairman & CEO. “We’ve already established state-of-the-art facilities nationwide while offering RV and outdoor products such as Coleman at our retail stores. Moving into the RV rental market offers the consumer flexibility in their travel plans while providing a unique and affordable rental experience.
“We plan to offer the lowest daily and weekly rates, supported by our relationship with thousands of campgrounds and, most importantly, 24-hour roadside assistance,” he added. “Our goal is to provide total peace of mind to every customer.”
The proposal will offer one-way and round-trip RV rentals through online reservations (campingworld.com and rvrental.com) and a toll-free reservation center. Plans call for an all-Winnebago rental fleet ranging from 25-foot Class C’s to 31-foot Class A’s.
“We are excited about offering an additional solution for RV enthusiasts looking to experience the RV lifestyle at the track and on the road,” added Kurt Hunt, director of motorsports for CW/FR. “Our status as the official RV and outdoor company of NASCAR is a great race/camping/tailgating opportunity for our customer. Camping is still the most affordable outing, and RV vacations have always been about flexibility, freedom and fun and we look forward to offering new opportunities for our customers.”
