Lake Rudolph Campground Marks 50th
Lake Rudolph Campground & RV Resort in Santa Claus, Ind., is hosting its 7th Annual Open House and 50th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday (June 7).
The campground and resort in southern Indiana includes 456 sites and rentals.
According to a news release, more than $1 million in additions and improvements have been made to the resort for the 2008 season. The improvements include 15 new rental RVs, expanded free Wi-Fi Internet hot spots, 20 new electric rental golf cars, upgraded water and electric hookups in the Kringle section and 10 more RV sites upgraded to deluxe and 36 RV sites upgraded to a new site category called Super 30.
A new shuttle bus was purchased and added to the fleet for guest transportation to and from the adjacent Holiday World amusement park.
Road improvements include paving of Frosty Lane in the new rental RV section, easier access to Comet Boulevard from the lower Dasher section and new Rudolph-themed street signs with solar lighting throughout the resort. A new ice cream and pizza stand is being constructed and should be open to guests sometime this month.
The resort features 121 standard rental RVs, 76 larger rental RVs and 19 cabins, all nestled in a wooded setting. The campground also includes 200 full-hookup RV sites with water, sewer, and 20-, 30- and 50-amp electric service. The 65 deluxe sites have concrete pad, patio, water, sewer and 30/50-amp electric. The 36 new Super 30 RV sites come with concrete pad, patio, sewer, & 30-amp electric. The resort also includes 40 tent sites with water and electric.
Amenities include the Blitzen Bay giant family swimming pool and Baby Blitzen pool, basketball courts, playgrounds, miniature golf course, fishing lake with paddleboat, kayak and rowboat rentals, 141 rental golf cars, beach volleyball, game room, horseshoe pits, camp store, four modern air-conditioned bathhouses, two Laundromats, outdoor pavilion, free Wi-Fi high speed internet and free Holiday World shuttle.
