The official grand opening for Mill Creek Ranch Resort in Canton, Texas, is scheduled for July 10. Developers will mark the completion of the new, 7,000-square-foot grand lodge, the resort’s infrastructure and cottage areas.
According to a news release, the lodge reflects the image of some of the great national park lodges, with a Texas flair. It is made from timbers and Austin Stone and provides a setting for conferences, seminars, events, weddings, corporate events and family reunions. It contains the most modern industry standards for audio visual equipment in order to host meetings requiring a higi technical level. All cottages and RV sites are equipped with cable TV and Wi-Fi, and the cottages have a sophisticated phone system so that cell coverage is never an issue.
The environment of the 200-acre RV and cottage resort has been protected and enhanced. Bud Surles, a former National Park Service executive and award winning state park director, has been called upon to design the total environment of the resort to reflect the beauty of the lush character of East Texas. Portions of the land have been set aside for wildlife management, and the entire area is designed environmentally friendly.
The resort is accessible off Interstate 20 and offers RV sites and cottages along with the lodge, conference center, RV lodge, outdoor pavilion, wedding island gazebo, resort pools with cabana, hot tub, gated playground, stocked ponds and daily activities.
