Hill Country RV Resort in New Braunfels, Texas, is now offering park model cottages for rent and for sale, thanks to an Austin-based company that recently acquired the 382-site park.
“Right now we have three park models, and we have five more on order,” said Bryan Kastleman of Austin-based Kastleman & Associates Inc., which is managing the park on behalf of the owner, an Austin based partnership named Hill Country Hillside Ltd., which purchased the park in December 2007.
Hill Country RV Resort is renting its park models for $110 to $195 per night. The resort is also working as a dealer for two Texas park model manufacturers – Athens-based Athens Park Homes and Grandview-based Park Manor – and is selling park models to individuals who would like to own a unit as a weekend getaway cottage or seasonal retreat.
“We are also developing an additional rental program for park model owners who want to have us rent out their unit when they’re not using it,” Kastleman said, adding that his long-term plan is to replace the mobile homes in his park with park models.
The park model additions are part of a $500,000 facelift the owner is giving the New Braunfels park. The other improvements include repainting the common area buildings; adding a TV, computer and newspaper reading room; leveling, expanding and improving the RV sites; powerwashing and restaining the patio and picnic tables; and adding an activities pavilion that will include arcade games and adding new landscaping. The new owners have also equipped the park with free wireless Internet service, provided by Austin-based TengoInternet.
