The 2009 Northeast Campground Association’s (NCA) 45th annual Northeast Conference on Camping & Trade Show in Springfield, Mass., will be “all under one roof.”
Writing in the August issue of Northeast Insites, Executive Director David Tetrault announced that all activities for the March 19-21 event will be conducted exclusively in the Springfield Sheraton Hotel. The nearby MassMutual Convention Center has been dropped as a conference venue.
Using the hotel and convention center “seemed the perfect fit. However, the five-minute trip across the street seemed like an eternity if you were leaving your family at the other facility while you hopped on the bus or walked across to spend the afternoon at the trade show or were attending seminars,” he said.
NCA members noted the inconvenience in their conference evaluations, he noted.
“Working with the Sheraton staff continues to be exciting because they truly want to host our trade show, meals and entertainment and your accommodations,” he said.
NCA formerly held its annual spring conference in Sturbridge, Mass., but moved to larger facilities in Springfield three years ago. Inclement weather in recent years made the commute between the two facilities in downtown Springfield problematic.
