‘Bama Fans to Get 2 New RV Parks
Cavalcades of motorcoaches are a common sight in downtown Tuscaloosa, Ala., before University of Alabama home football games as devoted fans roar into town early for a long weekend of celebration.
But as downtown RV restrictions grow and the number of parking spaces near the stadium dwindles, many a road warrior has been forced to park elsewhere. Developers, meanwhile, have sensed an opportunity, according to the Tuscaloosa News.
Enter TideTown motorcoach resort, developed by Bradley Fields of Orange Beach. The 84-lot RV park will be marketed to owners of “class A” motorcoaches.
Andy Turner of Advantage Realty Group, who represents TideTown, said the RV park will open in August 2009.
TideTown lots average 2,470 square feet and come standard with a concrete parking pad for one RV coach and a car. Each pad comes equipped with connections for water, sewer, electricity, Internet and cable.
Turner said the price for the standard lot will be $69,900. For an additional $10,000, a buyer can upgrade a lot to include a wooden gazebo for gatherings and a coach house with restrooms and storage space.
Tidetown also will feature a community clubhouse with pool, flat-panel televisions, laundry room, kitchen, restrooms and showers. A private shuttle will transport TideTown residents to and from Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Turner said all common areas and landscaping will be maintained with mandatory fees assessed to lot owners. A professional management company will manage the park and maintain the grounds.
The entire community will be gated and fenced for safety. Access is controlled electronically. Turner said an array of security cameras will monitor the complex continuously.
TideTown will be the second project of its kind in Tuscaloosa. The first, Park Place LLC, announced in late May features similar amenities to TideTown. It is also scheduled to open in 2009.
