The city of Reno, Nev., says RVs must be parked overnight in designated parks, not in casino or store parking lots. It’s not a new rule but it’s gaining more attention lately, according to KTVN-TV, Reno. Water and sewer hook ups at RV parks keep waste out of a public parking lot. The search for two canoeists floating the Little Niangua River near the Missouri Department of Conservation Access at Fiery Fork 50 miles northeast of Springfield ended in tragedy when the campground operator who had gone looking for them died of a fatal heart attack. The Riverside RV Park in downtown North Little Rock, Ark., was officially opened Friday (Sept. 19), as thousands of RV owners are set to descend on the area for the Family Motor Coach Association’s Six-State Rally. A U.S. Forest Service officer was fatally shot Saturday (Sept. 20) at an Olympic Peninsula campground near Sequim, Wash., 50 miles west of Seattle, the Associated Press reported. A new campground is being planned for a vacant plot of land north of Duluth, Minn. The 30-acre tract would hold about 80 sites, some with electric and water service, Gnesen town officials say. Gaylord Maxwell, 83, author, educator and founder of the Life on Wheels (LoW) instructional program for RVers, died Saturday (Sept. 20) afternoon after a short illness in Couer d’Alene, Idaho.
