TengoInternet and NomadISP, the nation’s two leading wireless Internet service providers to the RV park and campground industry, have pooled their resources to form iCaptive Media LLC, the host of a new RV information portal at www.RVSpirit.com that is generating interest from advertisers targeting RV consumers.
“It’s a game-changer,” said Eric Stumberg, president and CEO of Austin, Texas-based TengoInternet, adding that RV enthusiasts see RVSpirit.com as their Internet homepage when they log onto wireless Internet services provided by both TengoInternet and Boise, Idaho-based NomadISP. “Our breakthrough content and advertising platform and captive portal allow premium, location-driven ads and guaranteed traffic for online marketers.”
While RVSpirit is a neutral site, meaning it doesn’t directly promote NomadISP or TengoInternet, Stumberg said the website does generate additional revenue for both companies, which came up with the idea for website after realizing that they both had thousands of RVing and camping customers that they could direct to their own unique RV information portal. The site went live last spring.
Meanwhile, TengoInternet and NomadISP continue to compete against each other for wireless Internet customers and have no immediate plans to broaden their business collaboration beyond iCaptive Media and the RVSpirit website.
