250 Expected at ‘Rev Up in Reno” Convention
Organizers are hoping for a turnout of at least 250 people to the “Rev Up in Reno” campground convention March 2-4 at John Asucaga’s Nugget in Reno, Nev.
The California Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (CalARVC) is lead association among four state organizations sponsoring this first-ever Western conference of campgrounds groups. The other three sponsors are the Oregon Campground Association, the Arizona Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds and Idaho RV Campgrounds Association.
Campground owners and operators from Nevada, Washington, Montana, Utah and Wyoming also are invited to attend, according to Debbie Sipe, CalARVC executive director.
The exhibit hall has been laid out for 50 booths and organizers expect at least 40 vendors to participate, including five first-time suppliers, Sipe said. The park model pavilion has room for up to eight manufacturer exhibitors.
“We always have a good turnout at Reno,” she said, citing as prime factors low room rates, entertainment opportunities of interest to campground owners, air access via Southwest Airlines and a central location.
The convention will feature presentations by Linda Profaizer, president and CEO of the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (ARVC), who will give an industry update, and Bobbie Patterson, former chairwoman of the International Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus, a 26-year veteran as executive director of the Boise, Idaho Convention and Visitors Bureau and a park owner in the Boise area.
There will be four seminar tracks for participants to attend. The topics and their speakers are:
