W. Va. Anticipates Busy Camping Season
The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources is gearing up for a busy campground season this summer.
Parks chief Ken Caplinger says reservations for campgrounds won't start until Sunday (Feb. 15), but the agency is already hearing that people are planning to go camping for their vacation, according to the Charleston Daily Mail.
West Virginia has 20 areas that offer campsites that can be reserved between the Thursday prior to Memorial Day through Labor Day.
Caplinger says the DNR's reservation system tries to accommodate people on a first-come, first-served basis.
Reservations are not needed prior to the Memorial Day holiday nor after Labor Day.
