The Sioux Falls, S.D., City Planning Commission on March 4 approved a new ordinance that will limit how long campers can remain on a single spot in three city campgrounds.
City Planning commissioners passed the ordinance in a 6-1 vote, and the measure now moves to the city council for approval. If approved by the city council, the ordinance would limit a camper’s stay at city campgrounds to 180 days, according to the Sioux Falls Argus Leader.
Shawna Goldammer, the city’s zoning enforcement manager, said at the meeting that the ordinance is needed to help keep campers from remaining on a campground indefinitely.
