To honor police officers, four Pittsburgh area campgrounds are offering free camping this coming weekend to police and their families.

The camping will be available Friday and Saturday (May 1-2) on a first-come, first-served basis.

“After seeing the tragedy of losing three of Pittsburgh’s finest officers, we wanted to do something for all police officers in the area to show our sincere appreciation and gratitude for all they do,” said Denny Quigley, owner of Kozy Rest Kampground in Butler County, one of the campgrounds participating in the program, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Interested police officers must call to make reservations, mention the Fallen Heroes Special and show a badge at check-in.
The participating campgrounds are Kozy Rest Kampground, Harrisville; Bear Run Campground, Portersville; Peaceful Valley Campground, West Sunbury; and Rose Point Park Cabins and Camping, New Castle.
