5 People Hit by Lightning at Quebec Campground
Five people were recovering Wednesday (July 29) after being injured by lightning during a thunderstorm Tuesday afternoon at a Quebec campground in La Conception, about 80 miles northwest of Montreal, according to canada.com.
Three of the victims were hurt when lightning struck the admission kiosk at the entrance to the campground at 4 p.m.
A man and woman sheltering under a camper awning were also injured by lightning strikes. The woman was the most seriously hurt, but her injuries are not considered life-threatening, police said.
All five victims were taken to the hospital in Ste. Agathe for treatment.
