NPS Holds 2nd Free Entry This Weekend

national-park-service-logo1The second "fee-free" weekend, courtesy of the National Park Service, is the upcoming weekend, July 18-19. 

Although entry to the nation's 391 national parks is free, fees for reservations and camping are still in place. However, many concessionaires are also discounting their own services for the "fee-free" weekend, according to the 

"During these tough economic times, our national parks provide opportunities for affordable vacations for families … I encourage everyone to visit one of our nation's crown jewels this summer and especially to take advantage of the… free-admission weekends," said Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar recently. 

The final "fee-free" weekend is Aug. 15-16.
