Obama, First Family to Visit Two National Parks

Thousands of families will be visiting one of the national parks this weekend (Aug. 15-16), the last of this summer’s three fee-free weekends at the national parks.

One family is planning to visit two national parks during those two days. White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs confirmed today that the First Family will be heading to Yellowstone National Park and then to the Grand Canyon, according to

Gibbs said that the visits are meant to highlight the fee-free weekend and the national parks. President Obama has already shown his support for the National Park Service (NPS) and all the special places it protects and preserves. But, now he and his family will be able to enjoy at least some time at two of these natural treasures.
