Sioux Falls, S.D., to Adopt New Campground Rules
After months of talk and tweaking, Sioux Falls, S.D., city officials are expected today (Dec. 21) to approve an amended ordinance regulating campgrounds and camping units.
Most of the ordinance changes deal with state health guidelines. Others pertain to space size for each camping site, according to the Sioux Falls Argus Leader.
In November, the council scrapped a rule that restricted RVs to a 30-day limit in any calendar year in campgrounds.
Councilor Kermit Staggers, chairman of the Land Use Committee, said the amended ordinance is a “very simplified version that basically complies with state law. What this means is just a lot less regulation.”
