A proposed RV park and campground off U.S. 395 in the west Washoe Valley area near Reno, Nev., will be discussed at a public hearing next month.

The proposed Ophir Mill RV Park & Campground will go to the Washoe County Board of Adjustment on April 1 for a public hearing review and decision, according to the Reno Gazette-Journal.

The campground would have up to 145 RV or tent sites and a general store/food stand on 23 acres, south of Old Washoe Estates.

Reno developer Bruce Reeves, who’s backing the project, said RV parks remain popular camping destinations, even as RV sales are down.

“People are taking more vacations close to home, so it’s a good time for us,” Reeves said.

The site also would include a pool and baseball and volleyball areas.

I think this would be great to have as the RV parks here now are going down hill fast. I live full time in my 2008 RV and love it. I tried to work here for the park I live in but management wasn’t very flexible with me. I did learn to do the reservations and greet the public I love people., I would be very interested in managing this new park and making it eh best on in Reno area. Please give me a email back. My Hubby and I are able to do the office, snack bar or what ever they need.
