Maryland Sees Positives in State Park Alcohol Ban
Deputy Director Chris Bushman told the newspaper Wednesday (March 24) that there has been a sharp decline in reports of fights and disorderly behavior in campgrounds, although he couldn't immediately supply statistics.
Bushman says the number of alcohol-related drownings and near-drownings at state parks has also declined.
The Department of Natural Resources is expanding the booze ban to state forests. The move has drawn objections from alcoholic beverage dealers in Allegany and Garrett counties.
