The family behind the Perdue Oasis Golf and RV Resort, located 40 miles west of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, has decided to close the business, according to The Star Phoenix, Saskatoon.

Bruna Scharf, who owns the RV park and course with her sons, Matthew and Nick, said Friday the family will not operate the 18-hole championship course and RV park this year or in future seasons.

Scharf said the family “made a good business decision” about not continuing on with the golf course, which celebrated its grand opening in 2006. The front nine holes of the course opened in the fall of 2004.

Scharf declined to make any additional public comments about the business decision.

The golf course was a venture spearheaded by family patriarch Jim Scharf, who invented the world-famous E-ZeeWrap dispenser. Jim died in March 2009.

The Perdue Oasis course was designed by Calgary-based Glen Campbell and won a North Saskatoon Business Association Business Builder Award for new direction in 2006.
