A multimillion-dollar resort and RV park is being developed just east of Wichita Falls, Texas, according to the Wichita Falls Times Record News.

The facility — Coyote Ranch Resort & RV Park — is being built on 90 acres by local investors, according to general manager Kelli Jordan.

Jordan said the resort will boast a 6,000-square-foot grand lodge on the top of a hill, along with 150 full-service campsites (on concrete pads). It also will have a 120-seat wedding chapel, general store, two rally rooms, rental cabins, three yurts, storage units near the camping area, an indoor/outdoor kennel, swimming pool and a trade days area. She explained the yurts (portable cabins) are designed similar to traditional structures used by nomads in the steppes of Central Asia.

“I would say it will be a 5-star RV resort, if there’s such a thing,” Jordan said. “It will be a destination where they want to come. And it will fill a need for our community.”

David Stout is project manager. He said construction on the mammoth project started in late November. The targeted completion date is June 15.

Jordan said the independently owned and operated resort will celebrate the completion with an open house and ribbon-cutting.

She explained the grand lodge will be used for conventions, business meetings, receptions and various parties. It will have two meeting areas, a fireplace, swimming pool and commercial kitchen.

“Basically, it is for our guests to hold meetings and parties,” Jordan said.

There also will be two triplex cabins and two duplex cabins. Jordan said all will have a fireplace and Jacuzzi tubs. There also will be five cabins that sleep six to eight people near the camping area south of the grand lodge. Each will have a loft, full kitchen and wraparound porch.

Jordan also mentioned a honeymoon cabin will be located near the grand lodge. She said the rally rooms will be used for meetings and parties by camp guests. Both will have a fireplace and kitchenettes.

Speaking of the wedding chapel at the resort, Stout said, “They have something like that in Oklahoma City and in Denton. There is kind of some demand for it. It is more just for weddings, but church services are a possibility, too.”

She said all of the sites will be for rent by the day, week or month.

Jordan said the general store, which will house the registration office, will offer convenience store-type food and drinks, along with supplies used by RV guests.

She also said they have applied for a liquor license. Drinks will only be available for guests using the grand lodge (meetings and parties).

At a later date, a second swimming pool will be added, along with a putting green and a driving range area, Jordan said.

Jordan, who has worked for the resort about a month, said her responsibilities will involve marketing and general management.

“We are already taking reservations (for) RV sites and events,” she said.
