Alcohol Ban’s Working in Alberta National Parks

May 24, 2010 by   - () Comments Off on Alcohol Ban’s Working in Alberta National Parks

It was a controversial move, but it seems to be paying off for Parks Canada. RCMP, Parks officers and staff have been actively enforcing a ban on alcohol in all the campgrounds in Banff and Yoho national parks.

Spokeswoman Heidi Perren says parks staff are satisfied with the outcome of the ban — so far, according to CHQR radio, Calgary, Alberta.

She reports families are highly supportive and having a great time.

Perren says so far, they haven’t had one liquor-related noise complaint since the start of the long weekend, which concludes today (May 24).
