ARVC Releases Results of Cabin/Yurt Survey
The National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (ARVC) conducted a survey on rental lodging to determine our member parks current use and future plans to purchase cabins, park models, travel trailers, teepees, yurts, etc., according to May National Association of RV Parks and Campground (ARVC) Report.
There were 159 respondents – 40% were small parks (100 sites or less); 44% were medium parks (101-250 sites); 9% were large parks (251-499 sites); 6% were mega parks (500+ sites).
Below are a few findings:
- The occupancy reported for rental lodging units in season during the weekends is between 50-100% and about 40-60% during the week.
- Only 13% of respondents reported that they offer residential style park models or RV trailers at their campground to market to a seasonal or annual customer, 87% said they did not.
- 24% of parks said that they dedicated more than half of their sites to seasonal or annual guests that own their own park model or RV.
- 32% of respondents said that they plan to expand within the next five years into dedicating more of their sites to seasonal or annual guests that own their own park model or RV.
