Bolinas Beach, located about 20 miles from San Francisco.

Campers won't be able to pitch tents at Bolinas Beach near San Rafael, Calif., any longer after Marin County supervisors approved a year-round ban on camping, according to the Marin Independent Journal.

Camping on the scenic stretch of beach on weekends has been prohibited for several years, but with local residents long complaining about noise and other problems, county supervisors approved the year-round ban Tuesday.

Those who violate the ban would be charged with an infraction, with first-time offenders being fined $100. Fourth or subsequent offenses would be counted as a misdemeanor, possibly leading to arrest.

The ban will take effect in 30 days.
