KOA and Jelly Bellies Provide Sweet Weekend
“All of our families had a blast getting into the spirit of Jelly Belly,” said Stockton Delta KOA General Manager Scott Haar. “The cupcake decorating contest was the most popular event by far. The kids and parents just loved getting to create their own cupcake art. And the best part, of course, was that they got to eat their masterpieces.”
The Mother’s Day Weekend event in Stockton was the second event for KOA and Jelly Belly. The first was Easter Weekend, April 3-5, at the Santa Cruz/Monterey Bay, Calif. KOA Campground.
“We’ve never done anything quite like this before,” said Stephanie Scott, event marketing manager for Jelly Belly. “It was an absolutely wonderful event. The enthusiasm from the campground staff and the campers was tremendous.”
Kampgrounds of America and Jelly Belly scheduled the two events to test camper reaction to an event featuring various fun activities using the iconic candy.
“All of our campers just loved it,” said KOA Regional Vice President Eric Gothberg. “I think it’s safe to say that these events are a hit.”
“It was wonderful to watch kids, parents and grandparents all laughing as they created their own special cupcake designs,” said Scott. “Just watching everyone enjoy that kind of quality time was special. I think it’s what KOA camping and Jelly Belly are all about.”
