RV Park Offers Free Camping to Active Military
In celebration of the summer, Toutle River RV Resort in southwest Washington state announced today (July 26) it will offer free camping for all active military personnel all through 2010.
“It is a very small way of saying ‘Thank You’ for all of the hard work and sacrifices men and women in the military make,” said Toutle River RV Resort owner Charlie Curry said in a news release. “I personally encourage all RV parks and campgrounds in America to consider offering free or discounted camping for active military in 2010.”
“Currently, there are over 30,000 active duty military personnel living throughout the state of Washington, and slightly over 1 million active military in the entire United States. This is such a small percentage of the American population, yet they are responsible for much of what we take for granted. Contributing free or discounted camping to the men and women in uniform is something Toutle River RV Resort wants all campgrounds in Washington and the nation to think about,” Curry said.
A website has also been set up as a way for all the parks who want to participate in the program to be listed in one single place on the Internet. This will make sure that military personnel can easily locate parks in their area. In the next few weeks, Toutle River will be contacting as many campgrounds and RV Parks as they possibly can to invite them to join in for 2010. To add a campground to the list, visit www.tentsfortroops.org.
“This is not any type of endorsement for war, just my way of showing appreciation for what these people do for our country. It is my way of thanking them for our freedom,” said Curry. “This is to all our friends, customers and future friends.”
Toutle River RV Resort will provide its best available sites free to all active military personnel through 2010. The special offer is subject only to availability; therefore military guests must call to reserve a campsite. Active military ID is required upon arrival.
