Falling Tree Kills Idaho Camper
A Boise, Idaho, man camping west of Idaho City died when a tree fell on him during a windstorm Saturday (Aug. 21), Associated Press reported.
Coroner Pam Garlock says the man was camping off of Grimes Creek Road in the Boise National Forest about four miles north of State Highway 21 when a microburst late Saturday downed numerous trees in the area.
The man’s name has not been released.
The man was camping about 40 miles northeast of Boise, where winds up to 70 mph late Saturday knocked down trees and knocked out power to about 40,000 residents.
