Guests staying at Hershey Highmeadow Campground in Hershey, Pa., this October can enjoy both the beautiful foliage and an array of family-friendly fall festivities taking place throughout the town.

The official campground of Hershey entertainment complex, the 55-acre Hershey Highmeadow Campground provides guests with discounted rates and a free shuttle service to “Hersheypark in the Dark,” the Park’s annual Halloween event. Open for three weekends in October,  Oct. 15-17, 22-24 and 29-31, Hersheypark offers treats for every member of the family, according to a news release.

Hersheypark in the Dark includes live entertainment and more than 50 rides that are re-named for the season. “Ghost Runner” (Storm Runner) and “Wicked Racer” (Lightning Racer) offer thrilling nighttime coaster rides, while guests both young and old delight in “Bats in the Belfry” (Kissing Tower) and “Night Mares” (Carrousel).

One-price admission to the park also includes access to ZooAmerica North American Wildlife Park, which transforms into “Creatures of the Night” during those October weekends. Celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, Creatures of the Night provides a family-friendly, educational Halloween alternative.

Visitors staying at the campground also can enjoy Halloween festivities right at Highmeadow, including trick-or-treating at campsites, costume contests and site decorating.

Hershey Highmeadow Campground offers more than 300 open and shaded sites, including 24 cabins with heat, air conditioning, a flat-screen television and DVD player; pull-through sites with electric, water, sewer and cable television; partial sites with electric, water and cable television; and no hook-up tent sites. The campground provides free Wi-Fi.
