Live Entertainment Booked for Nebraska RV Park
Louis and Diane Herrick are launching a plan to host great entertainment at their RV park in North Platte, Neb., every weekend.
The Herricks own a pristine RV park under huge cottonwoods on the west side of North Platte. This weekend, Aug. 13-14, they will host an “Unreel Weekend,” offering a place to unwind with six music performers in a beautiful setting.
The event covers two late afternoon-evenings at the Lincoln Highway RV Park out on west Rodeo Road.
Alcohol is permitted on the grounds.
Tickets are $10 per person per night, or $15 for the entire weekend. Primitive campsites are $10 per night and full RV hook ups are $25.
Classic and custom cars and rat rods will be on display. The schedule thus far is as follows:
- Gary Phipps and Nightline, one of the area’s most popular entertainers, start the shows each afternoon at 5 p.m. Phipps was inducted into the Nebraska Country Music Hall of Fame in 2008.
- On Friday singer Ka Dee Stewart of Hershey will perform. Stewart recently was runner-up in the Colgate County Showdown during the Lincoln County Fair.
- Then Borderline, a premier party band in central Nebraska for more than 10 years, will play until 1 a.m.
- On Saturday, Phipps and Nite Life start the show at 5 p.m., followed by Mike Nicolen and the Lost Sidemen, a popular country and classic rock performer. Then Innocent Mischief, North Platte’s classic rock band that focuses on the music of the 1980s, plays until the show is over at 1 a.m.
Next summer, Herrick plans to start the series on Memorial Day weekend. Elvis Aaron Presley Jr., the son of Elvis, is already booked for next August.
