A fugitive who has been on the run for almost a year after being convicted of embezzling hundreds of thousands of dollars from a Gillette, Wyo., homeowners association has been arrested in Washington state, the Gillette News Record reported.

Julie (Jacobsen) Deliramich, 57, was picked up Tuesday night (Sept. 21) in Mason County, Wash., more than 1,100 miles from Gillette, Campbell County Sheriff’s Lt. Eric Seeman said.

Authorities believe Deliramich was working in Washington as a bookkeeper for an RV park.

An extradition hearing has yet to be scheduled.

Deliramich has been convicted of 10 felony counts of forgery and embezzlement. Last October, she failed to show up for court to hear a jury announce its verdict in her case.

Prosecutors say she embezzled almost $400,000 from the Fox Park Homeowners Association while working as the organization’s bookkeeper. Her ex-husband and daughter also have been charged in connection with the embezzlement scheme.

Pete Deliramich was sentenced earlier this month to five years of probation after pleading no contest to a felony charge of wrongful taking or disposing of property. He was given a deferred sentence, meaning that if he completes probation, the conviction will be cleared from his record.

Hailey Jacobsen Remmick is awaiting sentencing after a jury found her guilty in August of seven felony counts.

The charges came to light in 2003 when the homeowner’s board realized that four unauthorized loans had been made from First Interstate Bank. Prosecutors say Julie Deliramich forged board members’ signatures to obtain the loans.

This isn’t her first brush with the law. She served 14 months at a federal penitentiary after pleading guilty to tax evasion.

Local prosecutors waited until she finished her federal sentence before bringing state charges.
