Iowa’s Emmet County campgrounds had an excellent season, Emmet County Conservation Board Director Eric Anderson told the board Thursday (Nov. 4).

As reported by the Estherville Daily News, Anderson shared the followign results:

  • Wolden Campground camping receipts were $1,160 for October, despite the fact that the campground closed Oct. 22. For the fiscal year to date, which started July 1, Wolden receipts were $23,009.
  • Tuttle Lake Campground took in $806 for October and $18,718 for the year.
  • Iowa Lake Campground took in $150 for the month and $2,187 for the year.

Total camping receipts for October were $2,116 and $43,914 since July 1. Anderson attributed the numbers to nice weather which increased camping numbers.

Anderson said a materials list was being prepared for Tuttle Lake shelter house repairs.

The county, population 11,000, is located along the Iowa-Minnesota border in the northwestern part of the state.
