British Columbia Golf Course Eyes RV Park Plan
Plans for a recreational vehicle park from Club Shuswap Golf and RV Ltd. received initial approvals from Salmon Arm, British Columbia, council on Nov. 22, the Salmon Arm Observer reported.
The properties along the Trans-Canada Highway received first and second readings for rezonings from A2, rural holdings, to P1, park and recreation, as well as from A1, agriculture, to P1.
City staff explained that the properties contain part of the golf course, and the owner is proceeding with a number of improvements to the course, as well as working toward construction of an associated “bare-land strata” RV park.
In 2006, the Agricultural Land Commission approved an application to exclude the area proposed for the RV park from the Agricultural Land Reserve.
