Plan Commission Eyes RV Park Annexation
In its regular meeting on Friday (Dec. 17), the Kearney Planning Commission in Kearney, Neb., will consider annexing an RV park and campground.
Keith and Jan Rodehorst of North Shore Marina LLC are building the 80-site recreational vehicle park, the Kearney Hub reported.
The Kearney City Council on Nov. 9 approved a request from North Shore for a conditional-use permit for the park. The 15.16-acre parcel is north of Interstate 80 along the north side of the north channel of the Platte River, also known as Turkey Creek, and east of Avenue M. Kearney is in the south central part of the state.
The property will be developed in phases. Phase 1 will include an office, laundry and shower building and about 35 RV pads. The pads will be 30 feet by 100 feet with water and sewer and electric hookups.
The Rodehorsts plan bicycle rentals for the hike-bike trail, a nature walk along Turkey Creek, a swimming pool and tent camping areas by the creek.
The property is contiguous to city limits. The Rodehorsts intend to connect the park to city sewer and water.
