A camping area in Will County, Ill., is to be renamed for a teenager who died there in October when a large branch fell on him.

The Will County Forest Preserve District Board unanimously agreed Thursday (Jan. 13) to rename Hawk’s Hollow camping area in the Messenger Woods preserve after 16-year-old Kyle Zuleg. The Joliet Herald-News reports that his mother, Jill Zuleg, wiped tears from her eyes at the honor.

Kyle Zuleg was a junior at Neuqua Valley High School who enjoyed camping and the outdoors. Jill Zuleg says renaming the campground “will really memorialize him.”
