Tents for Troops, a nationwide program that provides deep camping discounts to active members of the U.S. military, has added three participating RV parks, bringing its membership to 25 states.

The three new additions are Meteor Crater RV park near Winslow, Ariz.,  Gunnison Lakeside Resort in Gunnison, Colo., and Indian Creek Campground and Conference Center near Tecumseh, Mich., according to a news release from sponsor Charlie Currey, owner of Toutle River RV Resort in Washington.

"All three of these parks are beautiful and offer loads of family activities to keep you busy or just kick back and relax if you prefer. All three of these parks are offering active military their choice of either RV or tent sites at no charge," Curry stated.

Curry added, "Tents for Troops wants to also send out a special thank you to our volunteers, Blaise Faber and Jenny Fowler, who have spent literally hundreds of hours putting this program together; without them we would not even be up and running. We also would like to welcome two new volunteers, Lucas Karn and Candace Rivero, who although have just joined on are very ambitious and we are looking forward to and appreciate having there help. Tents for Troops always needs volunteers. If you like what we're doing and have some free time, please give us a call."

Curry continues to expand the network.

"Illinois, Indiana and Missouri, we are after you. If you own or manage a park in Illinois, Indiana or Missouri, please call us today and do something cool to help by joining Tents for Troops. If you take a look at our website map page,,  and have a park in any one of the 'gray states,' please help us turn it 'green.' Tents for Troops is not just for tent camping and in fact most of the guests using the program have been traveling in RVs of all shapes and sizes. Our program asks that a park only offer two sites for two nights to become a member.

"Parks may also block out holiday weekends or special events and the program operates on a space available basis. That is to say, if your park is full or expected to be full, you are under no obligation to offer these free sites. If,  however, you have spaces open, we do request that at least two of these spaces be provided for a minimum of two nights completely free of charge to any member of our country's active military.

"For those parks that already offer a 10% or 15% discount to our active military, we ask you to please step up. In this case 10% or 15% is just not enough. Our troops are willing to give us all 100% and they do so 24/7. It's time we as an industry all step up and do the same. Please consider enrolling your park in the Tents for Troops program and help those who have our backs. Please follow Tents for Troops on facebook at _ and help us spread the word to our troops.

"If you have a friend or relative in the military or know someone who does, please let them know about Tents for Troops. As we near the spring camping season, we send out a huge round of applause to all of the wonderful parks who have joined our effort. You are truly doing something that will be greatly appreciated by our troops and your generosity speaks very highly of you all."
