Editor’s Note: The California Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (CalARVC) held its lobbying effort, dubbed “A Day in Sac,” on Tuesday (April 26) in Sacramento, the state capital. The initial report, from Debbie Sipe, CalARVC executive director, appears in today’s issue of Wednesday Morning Coffee Talk & Updates and appears below.

It was a beautiful 72 degrees in Sacramento and not raining! Something we were pleased to see since we and other representatives from the tourism industry walked from the Sacramento Convention center to the steps of the California state capitol for a reception with congressmen, senators and other legislative leaders.

The message of the day was “Jobs, jobs, jobs.” Many see growing the economy and job creation as the solution to California’s budget woes. Representatives from attractions, hotels, restaurants, ski resorts, retail outlets, various tourism areas as well as RV parks and campgrounds brought this message to the legislators in attendance.

Reception attendees were treated to a wide array of food and wine from across our fruitful state. Good food & wine always makes it easier to meet and greet new friends and have a conversation!

Attendees at CalARVC’s “Day in Sac” enjoyed a full day of activities, including events the evening before – Monday night.

More information will follow next week.
